Monday, Mar 17

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Toddler Time: 10-11am. Join us for stories, rhymes, songs, and other activities. This storytime is designed for Toddlers, but all are welcome!

    • Sensory Friendly Storytime: 4-4:45pm. Sensory Friendly Storytime is a special storytime for children who may have felt left out or nervous to go to other storytimes.

    • Tails and Tales - Read to Pickles the Therapy Dog: 4pm - Galena Branch. Come read to therapy dog, Pickles! She is a 4 year old lab who loves to have stories read to her! Anyone can come read to her! Each person who signs up will have a 10 minute time slot to read one on one for up to 6 readers each visit.

    • Beginner Mat Yoga with the YMCA: 6:30-7:30pm. New to yoga? Join us for a free beginner yoga class at The Floyd County Library! Learn about yoga basics, terminology, and postures. Practice yoga at your own level in a safe and supportive environment with guidance from a registered yoga teacher from the YMCA. Modifications will be offered as you practice each pose.  Yoga mats will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own, or any optional props, straps, and sweater in case you get cold. Registration is required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • St. Patrick’s Day Party: 4:30-5:30pm, Clarksville. Library Teens are invited to join Ms. Monica for a St. Patrick's Day themed party. Come hang out as we have green treats and some St. Patrick's Day game time fun! 

  • Form Not Function, Quilt Art Biennial: 10am-7pm, The Cultural Arts Center (201 E. Spring St, New Albany, IN 47150). The Cultural Arts Center is pleased to present the returning Form, Not Function: Quilt Art Biennial exhibition, featuring 20 quilts selected by guest jurors Michelle Amos, Terry Jarrard-Dimond, and Kevin Womack. This exhibition will be on display from January 16th, 2025 through April 12th, 2025. Admission is free for all ages. 

  • Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage: Men and Women of the Underground Railroad: 10am-7pm, The Cultural Arts Center (201 E. Spring St, New Albany, IN 47150). Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage: Men and Women of the Underground Railroad draws the national phenomenon of the Underground Railroad into sharp focus by revealing the contributions of ordinary people, both free and enslaved, whose courageous acts on both sides of the Ohio River helped overthrow the institution of slavery. For two and a half centuries, slavery was a blight on our nation’s psyche. Through it all, more and more ordinary people acted in the face of human tragedy—and changed America forever.

Tuesday, Mar 18

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Babies and Books: 10am-10:30am. Join us on Tuesday mornings as we sing, read board books, and have fun learning early literacy! Registration not required.

    • It’s a Small World Storytime: 11am-12pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. This storytime is designed with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but all kids and families are welcome. Join us every Tuesday at 11am to discover if it really is a small world after all. Registration not required.

    • Read Between the Spines Book Club: 5:30-6:45pm. Do you like talking about books? Join us at the Galena Branch for our new book club for adults! This month's selection is The Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman. Copies of the book are available to check out at Galena Digital Library for registered participants. Registration is required.

    • Pajama Time Stories: 6pm-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. Registration not required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Mother Goose Time: 10:30-11am. A fast-paced and interactive program for children ages 0-2 and their caregivers. Adult participation and interaction ensure the success of this program. Siblings may bring a doll or stuffed animal to bounce. Arrive early to get a spot.

  • ½ Priced Bottle Tuesdays: 3-10pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Every Tuesday ½ priced bottles of wine in house. Bring a friend (or two!) and come enjoy the Wine Shop.

  • Pizza & Chill at Wine Shop: 5-9pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Unwind with us every Tuesday from 5:00pm-9:00pm for our Pizza & Chill Special! Enjoy a glass of wine and a delicious flatbread pizza for just $20 . Plus, take advantage of our 1/2 off bottles of wine in-house to keep the good vibes flowing.

  • Kids Eat Free Tuesday: 4-10pm, RecBar 812 (New Albany). Every Tuesday, for every adult meal purchased, one child under the age of 12 can order a meal from the kid’s menu for free.

  • Singing in the Rain - Paints & Pints: 6pm, Our Lady of Perpetual Hops. Let's Paint Together! You must pre-pay. Includes all supplies and step-by-step instructions! Beginners welcome! Please Note: Arrive about 15 minutes early to get ready and prepped for painting. There is not a food truck on-site on Tuesday nights so you may want to plan accordingly and eat before you come. No outside drinks! Tickets Required.

  • Music Bingo: 7pm, Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. Join us every Tuesday for MUSIC BINGO!

Wednesday, Mar 19

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Wiggle Wednesday Storytime: 10-10:45am. Join us at Galena on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. to wiggle our wiggles out, read stories and sing songs! Registration not required.

    • Kid's Club: 4:30-5:30pm. Come hang out and enjoy a different activity each week. Activities will range from play doh to crafts to LEGOs! For Kids ages 6-11 years old. No registration required.

    • Sew, What’s Going on?: 5:30-7:30pm. Are you ready to learn beginning quilt techniques? Join this monthly class for kids! (Ages 9-18). In this class you will learn beginner quilting techniques. You will learn hand sewing, how to cut a pattern, how to use a sewing machine, and much more. In the process, you will be making a different quilt square each month. Each quilt square can be a stand alone, used as a hot pad or a square in a larger project. The class will be offered monthly, with a different quilt square taught at each meeting. Participants may choose to attend one class, many classes or all twelve. Those choosing to make all 12 quilt squares will have a complete "calendar quilt" at the end of the year. Registration is required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Preschool Prep: 10:30-11am. Stories, songs, rhymes, movement activities and crafts which encourage early literacy and kindergarten readiness skills. Ages 2-5 with a caregiver. Siblings are welcome. Space and materials are limited, so arrive early to get a spot. 

    • Dr. Seuss Celebration: 4-5pm, Clarksville. Come to the library for oh so much fun. A birthday celebration Ms. Monica will run with stories and goodies and craft time too. It's a party for our favorite Doctor...Seuss! 

  • Library Events - Harrison County

    • Library Little Ones: 10:30am, Corydon Branch. Join Ms. Savannah or Ms. Ann for stories and movement. Designed for ages 0-3 and families.

  • Geology For Travelers: 2-4pm, Falls of the Ohio State Park. If you are one of those people who loves a window seat in a plane, this program is for you. The landscape at 10 to 35 thousand feet shows the big picture: land uplifted by tectonics and dissected by water creating a panoply of landscapes. Alan Goldstein, park interpretive naturalist, will reveal tips and resources that will help you appreciate our planet as you travel at altitude. The program is free but doesn’t include admission to the exhibit gallery.

  • Floral Basket Pizza & Paint: 6pm, 812 Pizza Company (Georgetown). Let's Paint Together! This includes step-by-step instruction as we paint together! You must pre-pay. Includes all supplies and step-by-step instructions! Beginners welcome! Please Note: Arrive about 15 minutes early to get ready and prepped for painting. Pizza not included. Tickets required.

  • Recbar 812 Bingo: 7pm, RecBar 812 (New Albany). Free to play. Free to win! Come join us every Wednesday for Bar Bingo. Prizes for every round. One final coverall round every week for a rolling $50 jackpot. If no one wins, the $50 moves on to the next week! $2 off all adult slushies! This is a 21+ event to participate.

  • Last Call Trivia: 7pm, Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. Join us every Wednesday for Last Call Trivia! Games start at 7pm. First Place gets a $30 Dog Haus Gift Card, Second Place gets a $20 Dog Haus Gift Card, and Third Place takes home a $10 Dog Haus Gift Card.

Thursday, Mar 20

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Music and Movement: 10-10:45am. Join us at Galena on Thursdays to help your child learn some basic rhythms that will help with early literacy before they begin Kindergarten. Ms. Ashley will use bells, rhythm sticks, scarves and more for these exercises! Registration not required.

    • Art History Illustrated: Women and Medieval Manuscripts: 5:30-7pm, The Cultural Arts Center. In the European Middle Ages, books weren’t just for men. Although the stereotypical medieval scribe is a monk, nuns also worked in the scriptoria of their convents, copying and decorating beautiful manuscripts. In addition to meeting women scribes and illuminators, we’ll consider women as frequent patrons of these hand-made books, especially in the Gothic period, when tiny Books of Hours were worn like jewelry. Along the way, art historian Brenda Edgar will also look at how women were depicted on the folios of these precious volumes. Registration is required.

    • Teen Scene: 6-7:30pm. Hang out with us every Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Teen Scene! Take a break in the middle of the week with a new activity, game, craft, or anything else we dream up, plus snacks! All teens are welcome (11-18 years old). Registration not required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Toddler Storytime: 10:30-11:15am. Library kids ages 0-4 and their caregivers are invited to join Ms. Monica for a springtime themed storytime! Let's welcome warmer weather and sunny days with songs, stories, and a craft. 

  • Library Events - Harrison County

    • Library Little Ones: 10:30am, Corydon Branch. Join Ms. Savannah or Ms. Ann for stories and movement. Designed for ages 0-3 and families.

  • Spring Stroll: 3pm - business close. Downtown New Albany. Please join us on the first day of Spring for shopping, eating, drinking and various fun experiences at local downtown New Albany businesses. Watch this Facebook page invite for updates on all of the specials for the day. We are excited to kick off Spring with you!

  • Sip & Paint: 6pm, Baer City Winery. Let's Paint Together! This includes step-by-step instruction as we paint this winter painting! You must pre-pay. Includes all supplies and step-by-step instructions! Beginners welcome! Please Note: Arrive about 15 minutes early to get ready and prepped for painting. Tickets required.

  • Silent Book Club: 6-8pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Having a “silent” book club allows everyone flexibility to come and go as they please each week while getting to see both new and familiar faces. This means everyone gets to bring their current read and read at their own pace. We will be pouring some fun wines and sharing some yummy snacks! Feel free to bring whatever you need to be comfortable!

  • Feud Thursdays: 7pm, Dog Haus Biergarten New Albany. Join us every Thursday at 7:00pm for Last Call Feud Night! First Place gets a $30 Dog Haus Gift Card, Second Place gets a $20 Dog Haus Gift Card, and Third Place takes home a $10 Dog Haus Gift Card.

  • Line Dance Lessons: 6-8pm, American Legion Post 204 (Sellersburg). All ages welcome! $5 per person (or come watch for free). Beginner level dance lessons.

Friday, Mar 21

    • Morning Stories: 10-11am. Join us for books and songs followed by activities that encourage the development of early literacy skills. For ages 3-6. Registration not required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Friends of the Library Book Sale: 10am-1pm. The Friends of the Library, which is a volunteer support group of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library, host a Book Sale four times a month. The sales are held on the 2nd & 4th Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Our book sale room is located at the South end of the main library (closest to Court Avenue) on the lower level.

  • Library Events - Harrison County

    • Storytime

      • 10am, Palmyra Branch. Join Ms. Nikki or Ms. Shawnda for stories, puppets, songs, and more. Ages 0 - 6 and families

      • 11am, Elizabeth Branch. Join Ms. Sara for a story, craft, movement, and fun. Ages 0 - 6 and families.

    • Lego Club: 2pm, Corydon Branch. Drop-in for all ages. Parents will monitor their own children.

Saturday, Mar 22

  • Library Events - Floyd County

    • Camp Half-Blood: 1-2pm, Galena Branch. In Greek mythology, Demeter is the goddess of agriculture and the harvest. She is also known as the Grain-Mother. Learn more about Demeter as we explore our own creativity and green thumbs. In this program we will paint flower pots and then take home seeds to start our own gardens.Celebrate the start of Spring! Registration is required.

  • Library Events - Jeffersonville Branch

    • Friends of the Library Book Sale: 10am-1pm. The Friends of the Library, which is a volunteer support group of the Jeffersonville Township Public Library, host a Book Sale four times a month.     • Raising Backyard Chickens: 3-4pm. Join us for our class on Raising Backyard Poultry with Heidi Potter! Heidi Potter is the Agriculture & Natural Resources Educator with Clark County-Purdue Extension. She will be covering a number of topics such as local poultry rules, breed selection, housing & food, normal behavior, and keeping your flock healthy. This class is free, but Heidi would like for those interested in attending to RSVP her, if at all possible, at either (812) 256-4591 or hlpotter@purdue.edu.

  • Raptor Day: 10am-3pm, Falls of the Ohio State Park. Jared Everett, Interpreter with the Dwight Chamberlain Raptor Center at Hardy Lake, will bring raptors from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  A variety of activities will be led with park volunteers inside the Interpretive Center. There will be two live bird programs: Daytime Raptors* at 11 AM (planned species to see include the Red-Tailed Hawk, American Kestrel, Turkey Vulture, and Bald Eagle) and Nocturnal Raptors* at 2 PM (focuses on owls, including the Barred Owl, Barn Owl, and Great-Horned Owl ). *Birds displayed will depend on their condition for travel that morning. Program requires regular admission, $9 age 12 & up, age 5 to 11, age 4 & under – free. Limited to 100 tickets per show.

  • Stella di Luce Art Show: 10am-6pm, Huber’s Plantation Hall. Visit this weekend for the Stella di Luce Fine Art Show.

  • Cabin Fever Weekend: 10am-8pm, Clifty Falls State Park. 2221 Clifty Drive, Madison, IN. Events happening all day Saturday & Sunday. Admission cost is $7 per vehicle for Indiana residents, $9 for non-residents.

  • Kids Weekend at Bass Pro: 11am-4pm, Bass Pro Shops 951 E Lewis and Clark Pkwy, Clarksville. 2025 Spring Fishing Sale. Activities range from kids fishing ponds, Casting Challenge, Photo download, and kids get to color a fishing lure craft. This event is free.

  • How I Became a Pirate: 6pm, Derby Dinner Playhouse. AARRRGGH! Who wants to be a pirate? Young Jeremy Jacob is recruited by Captain Braid Beard for a swash-buckling pirate adventure in this musical adaptation of the best-selling book. Tickets Required.

Sunday, Mar 23

  • Southern Indiana Roller Derby Training Camp: 10am-1pm, 341 S Capitol Ave, Corydon, IN 47112. Have you ever wanted to learn how to skate and play roller derby? Now is your chance! Southern Indiana Roller Derby's 2025 Training Camp kicks off Sunday, February 23 and runs every Sunday through April 27 at the Harrison County Fairgrounds from 10 AM to 1 PM.
