Sensory Friendly Storytime: 4-4:45pm. Sensory Friendly Storytime is a special storytime for children who may have felt left out or nervous to go to other storytimes.
Monday Mystery Book Club - The Holdout by Graham Moore: 6-7pm. Join us for a lively discussion of mystery books each month. From cozy mysteries to detective novels to thrillers, chat about your prime suspects, the crime, characters, and more. You do not have to finish the book before you come, but be warned: spoilers lie ahead. Registration is required.
More Perfect Union Book Discussion Group - An American Marriage: 6-7:30pm. This book discussion group is a chance to explore, learn and understand more about social topics that might be of interest to you in order to find a "More Perfect Union" in our community. Refreshments & Snacks provided. Registration is required.
Write On! - Adult Writing Community: 6-7pm. Come be a part of our New Albany Library Writing Community! Created to help writers and aspiring writers connect with fellow writers. Bring your own personal writing projects to work on and don't forget your headphones to listen to your favorite writing music as you work! Writers can also support each other by providing feedback on a scene, character development, or other area of a writing project you are working on. Let's help each other cross the finish line! Registration is required.
Beginner Mat Yoga with the YMCA - Moved to Upper Level: 6:30-7:30pm. New to yoga? Join us for a free beginner yoga class at The Floyd County Library! Learn about yoga basics, terminology, and postures. Practice yoga at your own level in a safe and supportive environment with guidance from a registered yoga teacher from the YMCA. Modifications will be offered as you practice each pose. Yoga mats will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own, or any optional props, straps, and sweater in case you get cold. Registration is required.
Tails and Tales - Read to Pickles the Therapy Dog: 4pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. K-5 Northern Lights Chalk Craft: 4-5pm (Clarksville). Join Ms. Monica for a wintry craft, in which we create our own Aurora Borealis with chalk!
Let’s Do Zumba: 5:30-6pm. For families to have a fun and energizing workout at the library through interactive Zumba. Come and have the kids get those late night zoomies out!
The Tenacious Nurse Nichols: An Unsung African American Civil War Hero: 6-7pm. Join us on this date when our special Black History Month speaker will be Eileen Yanoviak, PhD., the author of The Tenacious Nurse Nichols: An Unsung African American Civil War Hero. It is scheduled to be released in May 2025.
Form Not Function, Quilt Art Biennial: 10am-7pm, The Cultural Arts Center (201 E. Spring St, New Albany, IN 47150). The Cultural Arts Center is pleased to present the returning Form, Not Function: Quilt Art Biennial exhibition, featuring 20 quilts selected by guest jurors Michelle Amos, Terry Jarrard-Dimond, and Kevin Womack. This exhibition will be on display from January 16th, 2025 through April 12th, 2025. Admission is free for all ages.
Louisville Zoo Kroger Wild Winter Days and Dare to Care Food Drive: Visitors who bring in one canned food item or non-perishable food item (per person) to donate to Dare to Care may purchase tickets at the Zoo ticketing windows for $10.50 per adult and $7.50 per child / senior ticket. Remember that 25 cents of every admission ticket sold supports Louisville Zoo conservation efforts in Kentuckiana and around the world.
Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage: Men and Women of the Underground Railroad: 10am-7pm, The Cultural Arts Center (201 E. Spring St, New Albany, IN 47150).Ordinary People, Extraordinary Courage: Men and Women of the Underground Railroad draws the national phenomenon of the Underground Railroad into sharp focus by revealing the contributions of ordinary people, both free and enslaved, whose courageous acts on both sides of the Ohio River helped overthrow the institution of slavery. For two and a half centuries, slavery was a blight on our nation’s psyche. Through it all, more and more ordinary people acted in the face of human tragedy—and changed America forever.

Babies and Books: 10am-10:30am. Join us on Tuesday mornings as we sing, read board books, and have fun learning early literacy! Registration not required.
It’s a Small World Storytime: 11am-12pm. You're invited to join us each week as we learn about themes like kindness, empathy, and family through different stories, songs, and crafts from around the world. This storytime is designed with kids ages 3-6 in mind, but all kids and families are welcome. Join us every Tuesday at 11am to discover if it really is a small world after all. Pajama Time Stories: 6pm-6:45pm. Join us for a Pajama Party every Tuesday evening at the New Albany Library! Come in your pajamas and bring a favorite blanket and stuffed animal if you like. Registration not required.
Mother Goose Time: 10:30-11am. A fast-paced and interactive program for children ages 0-2 and their caregivers. Adult participation and interaction ensure the success of this program. Siblings may bring a doll or stuffed animal to bounce. Arrive early to get a spot.
IN Dept of Health Vaccine Clinic: 11am-4pm. The Indiana Health Department will be on hand to offer a full Vaccine Clinic. They will be offering Flu, Covid, Shingles, RSV and more. Individuals with insurance including Medicare and Medicaid are asked to bring their insurance cards.
Anime Club: 4-5pm. This club is all about Anime. Join us for games, projects, movies and more. Long-time members and new fans are welcome. Meet in the Teen Area. Registration is required.
We Can Electrify Everything: 6-7:30pm. Why this talk/presentation is so very important and shouldn't be missed is what Trisha Tull has to say will apply equally to home building and to improving existing homes - as well as government buildings, houses of worship, schools, and nonprofits!
Lunch and Learn: “From the Pencil to the Mouse and Back Again”: 12-1pm. If you are a creative with drawing skill and wondering how artificial intelligence might inform a possible career in the arts… this talk could be for you!
2-Day Weaving Workshop w/Zach Scott for Beginner Weavers: 1:30pm, 113 E. Beaver St. Corydon, IN 47112. You will learn weaving fiber practices and patterns to create a sampler scarf. Registration is required.
½ Priced Bottle Tuesdays: 3-10pm, Wine Shop (New Albany). Every Tuesday ½ priced bottles of wine in house. Bring a friend (or two!) and come enjoy the Wine Shop.

Wednesday, Feb 26
Kid's Club: Instrument Petting Zoo with the CMA: 4:30-5:30pm. Join our friends from Community Music Alliance as they demonstrate a wide range of musical instruments. Afterwards, all in attendance are welcome to try out the instruments themselves and play a song together as a group. Information on Community Music Alliance’s instrument lesson program will be available. The CMA offers music classes and instrument rental at no charge (donations are welcomed). Geared towards ages 6-11 and families. Registration encouraged, but not required.
Sew...What's Going On?: 5:30-7:30pm. Are you ready to learn beginning quilt techniques? Join this monthly class for kids! (Ages 9-18). In this class you will learn beginner quilting techniques. You will learn hand sewing, how to cut a pattern, how to use a sewing machine, and much more. In the process, you will be making a different quilt square each month. Each quilt square can be a stand alone, used as a hot pad or a square in a larger project. Registration is required.
Wiggle Wednesday Storytime: 10-10:45am. Join us at Galena on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. to wiggle our wiggles out, read stories and sing songs! Registration not required.
Preschool Prep: 10:30-11am. Stories, songs, rhymes, movement activities and crafts which encourage early literacy and kindergarten readiness skills. Ages 2-5 with a caregiver. Siblings are welcome. Space and materials are limited, so arrive early to get a spot.
Clarksville Wednesday Readers' Book Club: 1-2pm, Clarksville branch. The Clarksville group meets in-person the last Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. The group started out as an Oprah Book Club group and has continued for the past 25 years with lively discussions and thoughtful reading. The club discusses a wide variety of books and authors both fiction and non-fiction.

The Science of Natural Disasters: 2-3pm, Falls of the Ohio State Park. Natural hazards are a part of living on a dynamic planet. Their causes are many, and their effects can be devastating. In this presentation, Dr. Kate Bulinski will be discussing the scientific causes of hazards and some of the ways that humans can reduce their impact. Dr. Kate Bulinski is an associate professor of Geosciences at Bellarmine University in the Department of Environmental Studies.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA): 1-4pm.Community Action of Southern Indiana is offering a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) service at The Floyd County Library Auditorium every Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. through April 10. This free tax preparation service is available to individuals and families with an annual income of $64,000 or less. Taxes will be prepared by IRS-certified volunteers in the library’s auditorium at 180 West Spring Street, New Albany.
Teen Scene: 6-7:30pm. Hang out with us every Thursday from 6:00 to 7:30pm in the Teen Scene! Take a break in the middle of the week with a new activity, game, craft, or anything else we dream up, plus snacks! All teens are welcome (11-18 years old). Registration not required.
Music and Movement: 10-10:45am. Join us at Galena on Thursdays to help your child learn some basic rhythms that will help with early literacy before they begin Kindergarten. Ms. Ashley will use bells, rhythm sticks, scarves and more for these exercises! Registration not required.
Laser Engraving 101: 5-6:30pm. Did you know that you can use our laser engraver to personalize gifts, create branded items, and design unique products? Join us for our Laser Engraving 101 class. Learn how to use the Epilog Laser and take home a mini project! Participants must be at least 16 years of age and basic computer skills are required. Registration is required.
Artists Roundtable: 5-6:30pm. Would you like to share your artwork and ideas with other artists? Join us at the Cultural Arts Center for Artists Roundtable, a visual art feedback group, to receive personalized feedback on your current artwork and encourage your fellow artists. Junior Paleontologist Program: 1-2pm, Falls of the Ohio State Park. We’re developing a Junior Paleontologist program, similar to what some national parks offer but focusing on our area. Southern Indiana Roller Derby Training Camp: 10am-1pm, 341 S Capitol Ave, Corydon, IN 47112. Have you ever wanted to learn how to skate and play roller derby? Now is your chance! Southern Indiana Roller Derby's 2025 Training Camp kicks off Sunday, February 23 and runs every Sunday through April 27 at the Harrison County Fairgrounds from 10 AM to 1 PM.
Earth Caches: 3-4pm, Falls of the Ohio State Park. Earth caching is an outdoor recreational activity where a GPS or smartphone is used to guide the player to a specific location to see a feature of historical or geological significance. Volunteer Bob Thesier will provide an overview of earth caching and how it differs from geocaching. Weather permitting, the program will conclude with a short group adventure to find two nearby caches.
